
BEAVER - Intaglio/Pigment - 15"X12" - This was Susan's very first intaglio. It was pulled at the renowned Kala Institute in Berkeley, California.
CHAMELEON - Intaglio and watercolor - 24"x18" - An edition of this work was awarded First Place at the first annual Bay Area Counties Sheridan Art Prize and is part of the permanent collection at the Library of Congress.

A is for - AVOCADO - Intaglio and watercolor 9"X24" - Susan planted an Avocado seed at her apartment when she first moved in. While it never produced any avocados, the tree is now 3 stories tall.
B is for - BRUSSELS SPROUTS - Intaglio and watercolor 9"X24" - Susan's favorite roasted vegetable!
C is for - CARCIOFI (artichoke) - Intaglio and watercolor - 9"X24" - My friend once described artichokes as "the only vegetable that bites you back".
D is for - DIAKON - Intaglio and watercolor 9"X24" - Valuable for improving dense soil as well as the material used for carving the "shank bone" for our Passover Seder. Did I mention that it's delicious?
E is for - EGGPLANT - Intaglio and watercolor - 9"X24" - The tiny ladybugs are a welcome guest to the garden. They are an integral part of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program.
F is for - FUNGI - Intaglio and watercolor 9"X24" - Inspired by a 19th century mycologist (Elisabeth Browning). Though it is doubtful that the various species depicted would fruit together, their beauty and importance made for a wonderful and fanciful composition.
G is for - GARLIC - Intaglio and Watercolor - 9"X24" - Queen of the herbs. There are several varieties in the garden.
H is for - HOPS - Intaglio and Watercolor - 9"X24" - These were "rescue rhizomes" from the local nursery that we ley a local home beer brewer harvest. If you look closely, you'll see three quail eggs where the local quail decided to nest.

K is for - KOHLRABI - Intaglio and watercolor 9"X24" - An underappreciated Brassica with many health benefits is also home to Dragon flies.
L is for - LEEKS - Intaglio and Watercolor - 9"X24" - (Or as Susan calls them "Mr. and MRS. Piroux"). Two lovely alliums, loaded with personality!
M is for - MAIZE - Intaglio and watercolor 9"X24" - Some take exception to the tiny mice feeding. Some predation is expected (and often beneficial) in a biodynamic garden.
N is for - NOPALES - Intaglio and watercolor 9"X24" - The tiny Jeroba rat seeks protection amid the Nopales spines and we marvel at the sky before a storm.
P is for - POTATO - Intaglio and watercolor 9"X24" - A mole in a potato patch is the epitome of happiness!

S is for - SAGUARO CACTUS - Intaglio and watercolor 9"X24" - Moisture in this iconic cactus has saved many a life...human and non-human. The pollination of the night flowering cactus is dine by nocturnal bats. This calls attention to the symbiotic relationship between divergent life forms. The image was created during a second fellowship at the Frans Masereel Centrum in Belgium.
T is for - Tomato - Intaglio and watercolor 9"X24" - Singer songwriter Guy Clark wrote: "There's only two things that money can't buy. That's true love and homegrown tomatoes." (Can you find the garden pest in this image?)

W is for - WATERCRESS - Intaglio and watercolor - 9"X24" - Cows eating watercress and the landscape from my cottage window in Belgium.
Y is for - YAM - Intaglio and watercolor 9"X24" - Everyone should (at least once) put toothpicks in a Yam with the girth in a glass of water and enjoy the climbing vine of delicate leaves reaching for the light.

MUSHROOMS WITH CARABUS - Intaglio and watercolor - 9.5"X6" - Mushrooms are fruitbodies of a mycelial network that live in the soil. These networks (especially the mycorrhizal) are the most important features of a well developed soil.
SPINY LIZARD - Intaglio and Watercolor - 4"X12" - The rhythmic breathing of the delicate spiny lizard is both gentle and strong. She makes on more aware of our own breathing.
